What a day, and night to be around such energy of the Commonwealth Games Baton relay. A glorious day, until about 20 minutes before it was due to start then absolute mayhem as rain and high winds made it doubt that the whole thing would be able to go ahead. New years day in Kakadu, top of Ubirr for sunset, and no one around for miles... Went for a break and to scout locations for future shoots this way, and have to say its as beautiful in the wet as the dry, with more of a mysterious quality. On assignment today with Ironbark, documenting the good work that happens down in Daly river and Amangal community. The boys at Ironbark showed me what goes on down this way, in terms of projects, training and infrastructure. Such kindness shown to me at every turn. Had the pleasure of working with Geoff over at Fun supply today, great to be on the water at sunrise with these guys. Geoff offers lessons on Lake Aelxander 3 times a week at 6pm, and for the more adventurous he also hires boards and acts as a guide at sunrise twice a week at Rapid creek.
